Fragrance Notes
The first impression, and usually the lightest part of the fragrance. These notes evaporate first, which is how a fragrance is built to open.
As well as the top notes fading, your nose adapts to a constant scent and stops registering it, while people nearby still smell it. Smell your wrist after leaving the room, or ask someone close.
The main body of the scent, emerging as the top notes fade. It shapes how the fragrance smells once it settles on skin.

Heavier molecules that evaporate slowly, like woods, musk, amber and oud. They are there from the start, and they are what remains once the rest has faded.

TL;DR
- Woody amber, bergamot-forward opening
- Longevity: moderate (small sample)
- Sillage: moderate (small sample)
- Similar to: Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif by Chanel
- Best for: year-round, equally suited to day or night
Khadlaj Icon Eau de Parfum opens on bergamot, moves into incense, labdanum and lavender, and settles into suede, amber and sandalwood. On a small Fragrantica sample, 55% of wearers call the longevity moderate, with sillage read as moderate by 68%.
What Does Khadlaj Icon Eau de Parfum Smell Like?
The composition opens on a single note, bergamot, giving a clean, citrus-bitter lift that is brief and deliberately understated rather than a busy multi-note top. That simplicity puts the focus quickly onto the heart, where incense, labdanum and lavender come together. The incense brings a resinous, slightly smoky quality, labdanum adds an amber-like richness with its own leathery undertone, and the lavender cuts through both with a herbal, slightly cool edge that keeps the combination from turning too dense. That heart is where most of the fragrance's identity sits, a resinous, herbal-amber accord that reads as warm but not sweet. The base then settles into suede, amber and sandalwood, a smooth, leathery-woody finish where the suede gives a soft, worn-in texture, the amber reinforces the warmth already present from the labdanum, and the sandalwood adds a creamy, woody backbone underneath it all. Read start to finish, the arc is short and direct: a brief citrus lift, into a resinous herbal-amber heart, closing on a soft leathery-woody base, with fewer notes in total giving it a more linear, less layered character than fragrances built on longer note lists.
How Does It Develop Through the Day?
The bergamot opening is brief, fading within the first stretch of wear and giving way quickly to the incense, labdanum and lavender heart. That resinous, herbal-amber stage is where the fragrance spends much of its life, the lavender's coolness keeping the incense and labdanum from ever feeling heavy or cloying. As the heart settles further, the suede starts to show through underneath it, adding a soft leathery texture that blends with the labdanum's own leathery note rather than replacing it outright. By the later hours, amber and sandalwood take over more fully, and what remains is a smooth, warm, woody-leathery base with only a faint resinous trace of the incense left over it. Because the note list is short, the transitions here are less about one stage completely replacing another and more about a gradual settling from bright to resinous to soft and woody, without any dramatic pivot along the way.
How Long Does It Last, and How Strong Is It?
On a small Fragrantica sample of 20 votes, longevity comes back moderate for most wearers at 55%, with 20% rating it long lasting and smaller shares at weak or very weak, and no votes for eternal. Sillage, from a small sample of 19 votes, leans moderate as well at 68%, with 21% calling it intimate and only 11% strong. Together that points to a fragrance that sits close to skin and holds for a reasonable stretch, without the reach or staying power of a heavier, more note-dense composition.
What Season Is It For?
Season votes, from a sample of 85, come back close to evenly split across winter, spring and autumn at just under 26% each, with summer slightly behind at 22%. That even spread across the cooler and warmer months means it reads as a year-round fragrance rather than one built for a specific season.
Is It for Men or Women?
Fragrantica's own community gender read lists this one as unisex, and that marketing position is followed here even though the gender votes, a small sample of 20, lean strongly male at 65% plus a further 20% male-leaning. As it is not marketed strictly for one gender, the default holds and it is treated as unisex.
What Is It Similar To?
Khadlaj Icon Eau de Parfum is positioned alongside Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif by Chanel, sharing a citrus-opening, woody-amber-base structure. The incense-and-labdanum heart here gives it a more resinous, less purely woody middle stage than that comparison, with the two aligning again once the sandalwood and amber base takes hold.
Who It's For
Khadlaj Icon Eau de Parfum suits anyone after a short, direct build from a clean bergamot opening into a resinous incense-and-labdanum heart, closing on a soft leathery-woody base. The even season spread and the near-even day/night split make it a flexible year-round pick.
